California Harvest Marathon – 26.2 Miles
Race Start – 7:00am
Please note that this year we will be completely shutting down Airport Rd. from Buena Vista to Estrella. Please make your way to Le Vigne via Buena Vista Rd. to avoid delays. See Directions.
This scenic course winds it way through the northeastern wineries of Paso Robles. The course is completely on paved road the entire time. Currently parts of Airport Rd between miles 1-2 are in poor condition (we are trying to get the city to fix this) but will be closed to traffic. After getting off Airport the roads are in very good condition as they head into winding roads of the more rural and scenic wine country. Please be careful as these roads are not closed to traffic. The largest and gradual climb (300ft) starting at mile 5 on Hog Canyon ending at mile 9 winds up through the hills. The rest of the course is even or has small rolling hills until mile 21 where you have about a half mile climb up Wellsona (100ft). After our version of “Heart Break Hill” on Wellsona you will find a downhill section followed by the last hill up Airport road back towards Buena Vista where you will find a flat course through the finish. The rolling hills and elevation changes makes this a challenging but beautiful course.
Please note the strict 6 hours time limit on the marathon course. This is due to road closure and insurance concerns.
